Natural Remedies for Cracked Heels : Cracked heels are one of the most common foot problems that people are facing when the skin around your feet gets cracked up and this situation gets worse in winters.
The main reason for cracked heels is dryness and roughness of feet’s skin underneath and lack of moisture. There could be other more reasons like standing for a long period of time, taking very hot showers, poor fitting of shoe, running or walking barefoot, dehydration, thyroid disease, lack of hygiene, etc.
Cracked heels are not only painful but it is dangerous too as it can attract many infections and diseases. Lack of vitamins, zinc, minerals can seriously affect the health of heels.
Today I am sharing how you can soften up your heels and get rid of cracked heels simply at home with some natural remedies for cracked heels.
1. PARAFFIN WAX
Paraffin wax is very effective in soothing and softening the cracked heels and also acts as a good emollient for cracked and painful heels.
INGREDIENTS REQUIRED:-
100 gram Paraffin Wax
2 TSP Coconut Oil
HOW TO USE IT:-
1. Melt the paraffin wax by using a double boiler.
2. Mix coconut oil to the melted paraffin wax and stir it.
3. Allow this to cool down at room temperature. Apply this mixture on your feet, after applying it wear a pair of socks.
4. Leave it overnight and wash it off in the morning.
2. VASELINE
Vaseline removes the dryness of your feet and provides a layer of protection to your feet. It also reduces friction and rubbing as you walk.
INGREDIENTS REQUIRED:-
2 TSP Vaseline
2 Capsules of Vitamin-E
HOW TO USE IT:-
1. Mix vaseline and vitamin-e together.
2. Apply this mixture on your feet and other cracked parts of your feet and massage it till it gets absorbed in your skin.
3. After massaging with it, wear a clean pair of socks and leave it overnight.
3. SHEA BUTTER
Shea butter has anti-inflammatory properties which reduces crackness, dryness, and roughness of feet and is also an excellent emollient that moisturizes feet.
INGREDIENTS REQUIRED:-
2 TSP Shea Butter
Warm Water
Bucket
HOW TO USE IT:-
1. Fill 1/2 bucket full of warm water and add the shea butter. Mix well until shea butter gets dissolved in water.
2. Soak your feet in this for 20 minutes.
3. Remove your feet and scrub with a pumice stone to remove the dead skin off your feet.
4. Rinse your feet with clean water.
4. BANANA
Banana is a natural moisturizer as it contains potassium which helps in treating dry feet and cracked heels.
INGREDIENTS REQUIRED:-
Small Banana
HOW TO USE IT:-
1. Peel off the banana and use the bottom of the spoon or fork to press down on the banana and continue to do so until the banana is well mashed.
2. Apply the mashed banana on your cracked heels and massage in for 10 minutes and let it dry.
3. Rinse it off with cold water and apply petroleum jelly to lock in moisture.
5. GLYCERIN
Glycerin will boost up the healing process of the cracked heels and will also provide heavy moisture to the heels.
INGREDIENTS REQUIRED:-
2 TSP Glycerin
2 TSP Rose Water
1 TSP Lemon Juice.
HOW TO USE IT:-
1. Mix glycerin, rose water and lemon juice together and store it in a bottle.
2. Apply this mixture daily on your cracked heels and massage it for 5 minutes before going to bed.
3. Wear a clean pair of socks after massaging and leave it overnight.
